Mystical Wizard – Baby, let’s make some magic together. *Wink*

Mystical Wizard is a slots game available at FreeSlots. It isn’t nearly as complicated as Olympics, which is a HUGE relief for me. ^_^

If you couldn’t guess by the name, Mystical Wizard is a fantasy-themed game. Some of the pictures look like they’re straight from a book of fairytales.

You can play up to 9 lines, which you should absolutely do. (Remember, at FreeSlots you can never run out of tokens!)

9linesRainbow!!

Wilds

This game is a little unusual when it comes to wilds. Why? Because there are two completely different types of wilds!

wilds Woohoo!

First, we have a goose that lays golden eggs.

gooseDuck. Duck. Duck. Duck. Duck. Duck. GOOSE!!! *Runs*

The goose “sticks” to the board for two spins, and on the 3rd spin it turns into a golden egg! The egg/wild sticks to the board for three more spins, and then it goes away.

If geese are too tame for you, then wait for the dragons! When a dragon appears it will blow fire into the next wheel, turning icons into wilds!

dragonfire FIRE!!!

The dragon can only set fire to what’s directly next to it, and sometimes (like in the above picture) it can set fire to the entire wheel. This means that a dragon on the bottom of the wheel can only set fire to one item. A dragon at the top of the wheel might set fire to 1, 2, or 3 items. It’s pretty random. ^_^

The dragonfire wilds apply as soon as they catch fire, and then they’ll stick in place for the next five spins.

Wizards

The wizards have two different roles. If you get a wizard on the middle row, in any one of the middle reels, the wizard will shuffle the icons that surround him.

In the pic below, the wizard is in the red box and the icons in the neon-green boxes are what he shuffles.

spinaroundwizard Um… yeah…

The shuffle rarely impacts the board in a significant way. I’ve never had it change a non-winning spin into a MEGA-winning spin. So don’t sweat it too much.

Now if the wizard gets two other wizard friends on the board, then it’s time for magic!

3wizards Ooh! Make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

The three wizards trigger a mini-game, and the entire board vanishes only to be replaced by a field of crystal balls. Click on a crystal ball to find out what’s underneath!

crystalballs What does my future hold?

If you’re lucky you’ll find a gem, which means you can click on another crystal ball! But if you find a dragon, it’s game over. :( All of the remaining crystal balls will vanish, so you can see what you missed. (And see where the other dragons were hiding.)

gemsanddragons Whoa.. Pretty good!

The numbers beside each gem are token values. In the picture above I just earned 90 tokens!

Sometimes when you hit a dragon, a wizard will appear and save your butt. It *usually* happens if you find a dragon within your first few clicks, but I’ve had the wizard save me after I’d cleared half of the board too. o_O He’s a little bit random.

But the fun doesn’t end there. ^_^ When you switch back to the regular board you’ll see a list of gems on the side, and as you spin you’ll see gems ALL over the board!

gems Shiny things!!

Once again, the number beside each gem tells you how many tokens it’s worth. There’s one thing that puzzles me though. Spin after spin, you’ll get oodles of gems until they run out. But how can you tell how many gems you’ll get? Is it random? (It seems to be.)

I hate not knowing. >_<

Anywho, that’s the end of the guide to Mystical Wizard!

Final Rating

At first I didn’t enjoy Mystical Wizard because I kept losing. Frankly, I would have given up if I was playing for myself. *^_^*

Then I got three wizards, and suddenly I was sitting on hundreds of tokens. Woohoo!!

And that’s really the only way to get lots of tokens here. The winnings from the regular paytable are pitiful, even with the wilds helping out. But once you reach the minigame you can easily get 300-500 tokens in a short amount of time.

Winning big is exciting, but I prefer my slot games to be a little more balanced. Long, uninterrupted losing streaks are hardly my idea of fun.

I rate Mystical Wizard 3.5 stars out of 5. It’s moderately enjoyable, but not something I’ll stick with. What would you rate it?

And while we’re chatty, what’s your ideal slot game like? I wanna know! ^_^

Candy Store – Satisfy your sweet tooth!

Candy Store logo

Candy Store is a 5-reel slot game on FreeSlots! Like all of the games there, this one is very easy to play. You can’t run out of credits so be sure you always play 9 lines!

winning 100 credits on Candy Store Woohoo!

All in all, Candy Store is very straight forward. Spin the reels, get credits, and if you’re very lucky, trigger the bonus game!

Candy Store Double woohooo!

The bonus game activates whenever you have two halves of a chocolate bar line up. Then you’re taken to a candy store!

bonus game in Candy Store Oooh! I want the 100 credit candy, please!

Inside the store you’ll see tubes of candy with various numbers on them. Whenever you click on a tube you get the candy at the bottom. You can only take 7 candies, so take your time and think about it! If I want that 100 credit candy (and I do) I’ll need to take 2 candies before I can reach it.

Also, see the sign to the right that says, “Go to the next store?” There are a total of THREE candy stores in this minigame, and once you move on you can’t go back. Usually there’s at least one 100 credit candy, but not always. (The highest I’ve seen was 200 credits.)

When you finish picking your seven candies you’ll get the credits and head back to the main game.

180 credits from the bonus game I want more!!

That’s all there is to it! I told you it’s an easy game. ^_^

Final Rating

My favorite game on FreeSlots is still Flaming Crates, but Candy Store is starting to grow on me! (Not literally.) It took me a little bit to figure out the bonus game, and it’s a lot more fun now that I know how to play. ^_^

Still, I’d say this is an average slot game. 3 stars out of 5. What would you rate it? Do you have a favorite game on FreeSlots?

Flaming Crates - Turn on the AC! It's hot in here!!

Flaming Crates is my current favorite at FreeSlots! It's a basic five reel game and you play up to 9 lines. Since you can never run out of credits at FreeSlots, always bet the max!

Big money! Big money!

What sets Flaming Crates apart from other slots is its "scatter bonus." It's a minigame that triggers whenever you get three crates.

One crate! Two crates! THREE crates! Ah ah ah!

If you hadn't guessed yet, this minigame is where Flaming Crates gets its name. ^_^ First, a board full of crates appears.

Which one do I choose?

Let's pick one near the middle.

Eek! What happened??

The first crate you pick will always be on fire. This is a good thing! The fire "spreads" to the crates surrounding it and you can open them for more credits and wilds. When you click on a nearby crate it might be on fire, or it might just have a number and nothing else.

Here's what it looked like when I picked a second crate. (After your first pick the only crates available are the ones near the fires.)

More crates!

Lucky for me, the next crate was on fire too! That meant I had more crates to click on. Woohoo!!

Keep clicking on crates until you're out of options. Once you're done, all of the remaining crates will reveal and you can see what you missed out on. So kind of them, isn't it? =(

I missed a lot. Thanks, guys.

If you're lucky you may end up with a few hundred credits! Unlucky... maybe 50 credits or so. But if you're SUPER lucky, you might find the 500 credit crate!

OMG! Is that for real?!

The 500 credit crate isn't on every board, and it appears in different spots. The first time I hit it I'd been playing Flaming Crates for weeks! I was so surprised that I stared at the screen in shock as the credits rolled to my account. Awesome!!!

In addition to beautiful, beautiful credits, you'll probably pick up a few wilds in the minigame too. This is the only way to get wilds!

You know I'm wild aboutcha!

Whenever you hit 150+ credits you can hit cash/credit to access your account. For further details on how FreeSlots works, please read this site review. Thanks!

Final Rating

I play Flaming Crates almost every day at FreeSlots, and I have a short attention span! If I can play something every day and not get tired of it, then you should try it at least once! ^_^

4.5 out of 5 stars! What would you rate it? What do you think of the three reel version?

FreeSlots - True Greats don't need to be fancy.

FreeSlots is run by SimSlots, Inc, and they've been in business since 1999! The site features 14 slot machines and a video poker machine.

And uh... that's all. ^_^ No customizable profile, no avatar, no chat, no Twitter, no Facebook page, nada. Just slots and monthly prizes!

Games

If you like slots, you will LOVE FreeSlots! The slots take up most of the screen which means they're easy to see! They have a few 3-reel games, but most are 5-reel. I haven't tried them all yet, but so far every one has a bonus game. I love bonus games. ^_^

Running out of credits is never a problem. You start with 100 credits, which you can use with any game. If you run out just click "Add more credits" and you'll get 75 credits! (Link only appears if you have 9 or fewer credits.)

Prizes

The banner says it all. Each month there are ten winners from the USA! With five $500 prizes and ten $250 prizes, this means that FreeSlots gives away $5,000 each month!

There are no paid membership options. The only ad you'll see is a small banner above the slot machines. But with an average of 700,000 visitors each month, FreeSlots gets more traffic than Gamesville and Slingo combined. That one banner is more than enough!

Are you surprised? I'm still surprised. o_O

How to Enter

As you play the games you'll earn credits. Every 100 credits counts as one entry. Each day you can submit up to 10 entries. No more!

Every person is limited to 10 entries per day. This means you can have (at most) 280 to 310 entries for each sweeps, depending on the month.

I like limited-entry sweeps. It evens the playing field. ^_^

Making an Account

When you get to 150 credits (or more) you can hit "Cash/Credit." Then you'll see this:

Not exactly rocket surgery.

You're a new user, right? Okay, click on the "Create a new account" button. The grey window will expand and ask for more info.

My personal details? No!!!

Relax. ^_^ This is all standard info asked by just about every free to win site.

IMPORTANT: They will send you an email if you win. Be sure that it's an email account you check often!

If you're worried about spam you can always create an email address specifically for gaming sites. But I've been playing FreeSlots for about two months now, and I haven't had any spam.

From here on out you'll use your email and password to send credits to the server. Whenever you make a deposit it will tell you your total balance and how many entries you have in the sweeps. Simple, and handy!

Oooohhhh!

I like to keep a few thousand "extra" credits in the bank. On days when I don't have much time I just have to reach 150 credits to access my account, then I can enter the banked credits in sweeps. Reaching 150 credits in a day is much easier than reaching 1,000!

Until you deposit the credits in your account, they're stored on your computer in a cookie. If your browser is set to clear cookies automatically then you'll want to deposit credits before you exit the site.

If the only cookie you're familiar with is chocolate chip, just deposit your credits when you're done playing. ^_^

Final Opinion

When I first saw FreeSlots I thought it was a scam. Seriously! I didn't think it was possible for such a plain site to be legit. *^_^* But when I tracked down a winner* I had to admit that it's a safe site and not a scam.

Now I play FreeSlots several times a day! I love that I can pop in and out whenever I want. No commercials to wade through, no chats, just slots.

I can deal with that. ^_^

*They list the winners by first name, first initial of last name, then city and state. It took some digging but yeah, I contacted a winner. Who's got the skillz? Me!! ^_~
