Open Discussion – What’s the best advice you have ever received?

This one is easy for me. ^_^ A beloved aunt once told me, “Love your parents, but live your own life.”

To be honest, I’m not sure what we were discussing. (Maybe boys?) But I’ve never forgotten those words. I’ve always had ideas and opinions that conflicted (to a degree) with my parents. This was the first time I realized it was okay to have different ideas!

That epiphany was on par with the later one of, I don’t have to have kids if I don’t want to?!  Yeah, that one really was an earth shaker for me. *^_^*

How about you? What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
