Boggle Bash - AKA, "When reading a dictionary pays off."

Pogo's Boggle Bash is simple to play, but hard to play well. Your goal is to form words on the board. Each letter in the word MUST touch the previous letter somehow.

To make a word you can click each letter individually and then click the SUBMIT button at the bottom. OR you can type the word in the text box and hit the Enter key to turn it in. There's no penalty for submitting a non-existent word, so give it your best shot!

If you get stuck you can rotate the board by either clicking the ROTATE button or using your arrow keys to move things along. This is a great tool when you get stuck!

Scoring is pretty simple.
  • 3-4 letters = 1 point
  • 5 letters = 2 points
  • 6 letters = 3 points
  • 7 letters = 5 points
  • 8 letters (or more) = 11 points
You also get bonus points for finding words that no one else at your table found. They're called "unique" words.

I winz!! I can haz cookie nao?

I'm usually happy if I have 2 or more unique words. Some people find dozens and it makes me feel a little dumb. *^_^*

At the end of a round you can look to see all the unique words that everyone at your table found. If you mouse over the word it will highlight the letters on the mini-boggle board, so you can see how they did it. This is a wonderful tool for learning new words!

A "hod" is a coal scuttle. Bet ya didn't know that!

I've mentioned rounds and tables, so let me clear that up. ^_^ Each game is divided into 3 rounds and each round is 3 minutes long. In the third round the last minute will be a "Panic Flip," and the Boggle board gets shaken up. It's the same letters that you already had, just mixed up a bit.

Each room is divided into tables. A table will have 4-5 people at it. Your table needs to win 2 of the 3 rounds in order to earn a Jackpot spin.

I'm numbah one!

How do you "win" the round? Well, each round your table will have a goal. It may be to find a set number of words, or earn a total score. The key thing to remember is that you're ALL working toward this goal. It's not just you!

It's actually very easy to win 2 out of 3 rounds. When I played we won every round. And I assure you, we didn't win because I'm some kind of awesome at this game.

Of course, I only played in rooms that were nearly full. (20 players.) I'm sure it would be much harder to win if you were in a room with barely any players.

You can expect to get a Jackpot spin every game that you play. The max the pot will be is $4,999. Your odds of winning the JP are very, very tiny. But you'll get a few tokens to make your non-winning a little easier to bear. ^_^

Final Rating:
I like word games, but I get tired of them very quickly. However, Boggle Bash is quick, easy to play, and I like getting to work as a group.

The downsides are that you have little time to chat because it's so fast, and if you're play free you may have issues with the ads. I switched to typing the words and occasionally an ad would take my cursor out of the text box. A minor annoyance.

I'm going to give this 4 stars. For a word game it's pretty darn good. ^_~
